Summer is approaching fast, and many parents find themselves looking for activities that will keep their children's brains active and ready for the next school year while having fun and enjoying their break from school. Our STEM Summer Camps are the perfect solution! We have camps for students in grades 1 -12. Whether you want your child to be exposed to foundational scientific principles or you have an older child looking to find where their passions lie before they head off to college, our camps can help! In this blog, we’ll give you an overview of our eight incredible STEM Summer Camps.

Lego Spike

Grades 1-3

Lego Spike introduces students to the world of robotics by using working motors, sensors, and age-appropriate computer programming. During the week-long program, students will build interactive robots, then add movement with fun, drag-and-drop software. Your child will have fun while developing his or her skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics!

WeDo 2.0

Grades 2-4

WeDo 2.0 makes science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and coding come to life. The unique combination of the Lego Brick, classroom-friendly software, and engaging, standards-based projects results in a resource that builds students' confidence to ask questions, define problems, and design their own solutions by putting STEM learning directly in their hands.

Mindstorms EV3

Grades 5-9

With LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 you can turn LEGO creations into live robots that follow your every command. Work with motors, sensors, and a programmable brick to create and command robots of your wildest imagination, including cool robot characters. Follow building instructions and use the application to command your robot.  Program robots to walk, talk, and move via the intuitive software program, the programmable brick, and a computer. This hands-on program allows students to work independently and at their own pace.  With the guidance of EHT PAL Robotics counselors, children will learn and develop their skills.

Intro to Robotics

Grades 7-10

During Intro to Robotics, students will use the GoBilda building systems to reverse engineer a FLAWED robot design under the watchful eyes of members of our 3 time NJ First Tech Challenge State Champion Robotics Team 7149, the ENFORCERS. Teams will identify flaws prior to rebuilding the robot, redesign their build, and then test the robot to conquer the PAL-modified First Tech Challenge course. It is a complete design system for students who are serious about engineering. If you are serious about your engineering future and hope to be on PAL's nationally competitive First Tech Challenge Team, this is a must-attend class to give you the edge.

NASA Astro Camp

Grades 6-9

Our NASA Astro camp is loaded with hands-on activities and exploration of NASA missions, providing a connection for all youth to science missions, challenges, and resources. Earth Science, Planetary Science, Human Explorations with Moon to Mars and Rocketry will be explored. Activities include designing & building a crew exploration vehicle, building wind turbines, and an Artemis Moon Challenge.  EHT PAL will inspire future generations to learn about space exploration and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, developing pathways to S.T.E.M. fields. PAL is the only facility in New Jersey to become a certified NASA Astro Camp Partner!

Rocketry & Aviation

Grades 6-9

Our Rocketry & Aviation camp is a very hands-on week of flight exploration designed to expose students to aviation and aerospace careers and to promote S.T.E.M. education.  Campers will learn the basics forces of flight, paper airplane design, model rocket design, and flight, and then build and fly rockets of various sizes and shapes. We will then test their flight capabilities for height and distance. This is a very hands-on week of flight exploration with a variety of fun summer activities as well!  We adhere to the National Association of Rocketry's Model Rocket Safety Code.

SeaPerch

Grades 6-12

SeaPerch is an innovative underwater robotics program that equips students with the resources they need to build an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). Students build the ROV from a kit comprised of low-cost, easily accessible parts, following a curriculum that teaches basic engineering and science concepts with a marine engineering theme. The SeaPerch Program provides students with the opportunity to learn about robotics, engineering, science, and mathematics (STEM) while building an underwater ROV as part of a science and engineering technology curriculum. Throughout the project, students will learn engineering concepts, problem-solving, teamwork, and technical applications.

Dune Buggy Build

Grades 5-8

Our Dune Buggy project is a fantastic little build: 515 plus Lego-based parts, RC-controlled with 2 motors, a servo, shocks, manual steering, battery, protective frame, tires, drive shaft, race-inspired seat, and more.  During this STEM summer camp week, campers will build this fun project, learn the real-life use of these functioning systems in an enjoyable format, while still enjoying the fun activities of a traditional summer camp. And, at the end of the week, they get to keep the build!!! Summer camp for the STEM lover has never been this much fun. This camp is limited to 14 campers, and each camper will build their own buggy that they will keep at the end of the week's camp.
