Get To Know Our Programs: STEM Clubs

The Police Activities League of Egg Harbor Township and Atlantic County offers a variety of programs, leagues, events, and services for our local community! One of our biggest passions is providing opportunities for our local community to learn more about STEM! STEM encompasses science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This field encompasses a wide variety of specific areas such as robotics, astronomy, forensics, coding, and SO much more! We want to introduce everyone to all of our STEM opportunities, especially our STEM Clubs!

This program is for anyone over the age of 16. Our Combat Bots club is working on two different bots. Our first robot is “Spider”. Our plan is to compete in the 30lb Division of the Norwalk Havoc Combat Robot League. After thorough testing, development, and refinement, the prototype will be converted into a 250lb Battlebot and we will apply to the Battlebot competition. The second is an all-terrain combat robot, “All Zone”. Our all-terrain, outdoor robot is being designed and developed to compete in an outdoor combat challenge that will be held right here on our campus The robot will feature rockets, laser-tag technology, a utility arm, and a tank drive system using GoBilda treads. The robot will also have night vision with full FPV capability.

In our efforts to share STEM education, we try to provide opportunities for as many children in our community as possible. We have limited funding for at-risk youth and have scholarships available for families that need financial assistance in having their children attend these workshops. If you are interested in this assistance please get in touch with us. If you are interested in supporting the work that we do as a non-profit organization you can find more information about donating or volunteering on our website!
